Ondo police arrest 13 suspects over ward congress violence

Thirteen suspects have been arrested by Ondo State Police Command following violent attacks during the All Progressives Congress (APC) ward congress in Idanre.

Police spokesman Abayomi Jimoh said the attacks on February 18 left two people dead, three injured, and caused property damage.

The arrests were part of an intelligence-led operation ordered by State Commissioner of Police Adebowale Lawal.

The suspects, including Adewusi, Dele, and Akinkurole, have provided statements aiding ongoing investigations.

Lawal urged residents to remain calm and assist security efforts.

In a separate incident, kidnappers abducted a couple in Ilu-Abo, Akure North LGA. Gunmen shot at a neighbor during the attack; he is receiving hospital treatment.
