Oborevwori pays glowing tribute to former Delta Speaker, Ochei, at 57

Gôvernor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta has congratulated the former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Mr Victor Ochei, on his 57th birthday.

Rt. Hon. Oborevwori’s message is contained in a statement issued in Asaba by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, and made available to newsmen on Wednesday.

Oborevwori described Ochei as an accomplished politician, astute businessman and committed philanthropist with lasting impact on the state’s growth and development.

According to him, Ochei distinguished himself as Speaker of the state House of Assembly, where he was credited with stabilising the legislature.

He said, “Ochei’s tenure reflected dedication to democratic principles, grassroots empowerment and policies that encouraged sustainable development across the state.”

The governor also recalled Ochei’s service as Executive Director, Cabotage Services, at the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency.

He added that Ochei deployed his experience to strengthen institutional frameworks and support reforms that advanced Nigeria’s maritime sector.

He also commended his leadership as President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation, citing his renewed efforts to reposition the sport nationwide.

Oborevwori added that Ochei’s legacy of service had continued to inspire a new generation of leaders within Delta and beyond.

“Ochei is a dependable and influential stakeholder in Delta politics, whose counsel and support remain invaluable to governance and party affairs.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Delta, I congratulate my dear brother and friend on his 57th anniversary,” the governor stated.

He prayed for continued good health, wisdom and greater opportunities for Ochei to serve humanity in the years ahead.
