Soludo visits schools to end Monday closures

In a move to restore full academic activity, Gov. Chukwuma Soludo toured several primary and secondary schools in Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area on Monday.

The visits aimed to end the long-standing disruption of Monday classes caused by forced closures.

Schools on the tour included Community School, Unique Nursery and Primary School, Unique Secondary School, Central School Primary School, Holy Child Secondary School, Community Secondary School, Amaorji Primary School, Ikemee Primary School, and Model Primary School.

During the visit, Soludo engaged with both teachers and students, praising the return to classrooms on Mondays as a key step toward reviving productivity in the state.

He encouraged students to embrace discipline and integrity to compete globally, noting that a strong start to the week sets the tone for success.

The governor highlighted the government’s partnership with mission authorities in managing the schools, explaining that while the state provides subsidies and supports teachers, mission bodies contribute infrastructure and maintain learning environments.

Assuring residents of adequate security, Soludo urged school administrators to maintain accurate student attendance records.

He also commended teachers for their resilience and dedication, stressing that aligning with global productivity standards will enhance economic and social development in the South-East.

“This is a strong signal to investors and residents that Anambra is reclaiming its economic and social life. The state is open for business and progressing steadily,” Soludo said.
