Teen allegedly kills friend during fight in Ondo

An 18-year-old teenager, Johnson Daniel, has been arrested in Owo, Ondo State for allegedly stabbing his friend to death following an argument, police confirmed.
Eyewitnesses reported that the incident occurred around 4:00 p.m. on Thursday along a roadside in the community.
The victim, identified as Amos Ariyo, was reportedly stabbed in the chest before the suspect fled the scene, leaving residents in shock.
The Ondo State Police Command, through its spokesperson DSP Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed that the victim was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police investigators later visited the scene and recovered the knife believed to have been used in the attack.
The suspect has since been taken into custody, and the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
The command appealed to the public to remain calm as detectives continue their inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
Residents of Owo have expressed shock and grief over the violent act, highlighting concerns over youth conflicts escalating into deadly outcomes.
