Oborevwori urges peace, unity during Eid-el-Fitr

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, has extended heartfelt felicitations to Muslims in the State and across Nigeria as they celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, marking the successful conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement issued from Asaba and signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the Governor commended Muslim faithful for their devotion, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to the spiritual values of Islam throughout the month of fasting and prayer.
Oborevwori described Ramadan as a time for deep reflection, self-discipline, compassion, and renewed faith.
He urged Muslims to carry forward these virtues beyond the holy month, emphasising that their continued practice would benefit society at large.
Highlighting the need for peaceful coexistence, the Governor stressed the importance of unity and tolerance among people of different religious and ethnic backgrounds in Delta State and the nation as a whole.
He also called on Nigerians to use the occasion of Eid to pray for the continued peace, stability, and progress of the country, noting that collective effort and mutual understanding are vital for addressing ongoing socio-economic challenges.
While wishing Muslims a joyous and serene celebration, Oborevwori reassured residents that his administration remained committed to inclusive governance, infrastructural development, and the welfare of all citizens, in line with the ‘MORE Agenda’.
The governor urged Deltans to celebrate responsibly and continue supporting government initiatives aimed at building a stronger, safer, and more prosperous Delta State.
