Oborevwori mourns aide, Sunday Kotor

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, has expressed profound sorrow over the sudden death of his Senior Special Assistant on Protocol, Mr. Sunday Kotor, describing the loss as a major blow to the state government and the people of Delta.
Mr. Kotor, a seasoned Master of Ceremony and a familiar face at Government House, Asaba, reportedly collapsed at a private event on Friday evening.
He was immediately rushed to a nearby medical facility, but despite efforts to revive him, he was confirmed dead.
In a statement issued through his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori described Kotor as a dedicated public servant whose commitment to duty had left an indelible mark on the administration.
“The late Sunday Kotor was wholly dedicated to his job. His passing is a huge loss, not only to his family but to the government and people of Delta State,” the Governor lamented.
Governor Oborevwori extended heartfelt condolences to Kotor’s family, particularly his younger brother, Mr. Conference Kotor, who serves as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media.
He also acknowledged Kotor’s significant contributions to protocol management and event coordination, noting that his presence at official functions would be deeply missed.
Kotor had anchored state events for over two decades, serving under successive administrations, including those of former Governors Emmanuel Uduaghan and Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, and continuing his role under the current administration.
His vibrant personality and professional expertise made him a fixture at Government House and a respected figure in the state’s political and social circles.
A graduate of Mass Communication from Delta State University, Abraka, Kotor hailed from Okwagbe in Ughievwen Kingdom, Ughelli South Local Government Area.
His sudden passing has left colleagues, friends, and family members in shock, many describing it as devastating given his longstanding service and visible presence at public events.
