Tinubu orders manhunt after Kaduna village attack
President Bola Tinubu has directed security agencies to intensify efforts to find those behind the deadly attack on Naridon Village in Kamaru Ward of Kauru Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
The President ordered the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force and intelligence agencies to launch a coordinated operation aimed at tracking down the attackers and restoring calm to the affected community.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga on Tuesday, Tinubu described the incident as a brutal assault on innocent citizens and vowed that those responsible would face justice.
“I have directed the Armed Forces, police and relevant intelligence agencies to intensify operations across the affected areas to track down the perpetrators swiftly and restore normalcy to the region, ” he said.
The attack, which occurred in the early hours of Monday, reportedly claimed the lives of about 30 residents, including women and children. Several homes were also destroyed during the assault.
Condemning the violence, Tinubu described it as a “barbaric and cowardly attack”, saying it was an unprovoked act of terror against defenceless Nigerians.
The President assured residents that his administration would continue strengthening the country’s security system, improving the capacity of security personnel and dismantling criminal networks threatening peace across the country.
“Our administration has an unwavering commitment to strengthening security infrastructure, equipping response personnel and neutralising criminal networks attempting to disrupt the peace of the nation, ” he said.
Tinubu also appealed to communities in affected areas to work closely with security agencies by providing useful information that could help prevent further attacks and support investigations.
He extended his condolences to the families of the victims, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani and the people of the state, while assuring affected communities of federal support.
The President stressed that anyone attempting to undermine the peace and security of Kaduna State would be pursued and brought to justice.
