APC leaders meet Bauchi Gov. Bala Mohammed amid ADC interest

The All Progressives Congress (APC) national leadership held a closed-door meeting with the Bala Mohammed at the Government House in Bauchi on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
The delegation included the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, and the Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf. Only the three attended, with state party executives excluded and media barred from the session.
The meeting followed Governor Mohammed’s recent expression of interest in joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC), after a delegation led by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, visited Bauchi to discuss his potential defection.
Both Mohammed and Yilwatda declined interviews, describing the visit as private. The outcome of the meeting has not been publicly disclosed.
