Blessing CEO apologises, offers refunds after cancer claims

Nigerian influencer Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has issued a public apology following controversy surrounding her claim of battling stage four cancer, while also offering refunds to individuals who contributed money towards her treatment.
The controversy escalated after she shared a medical report online to support her claim and appealed for financial assistance.
The document was later challenged by Xinus Medical Diagnostics, which alleged that it had been altered and was originally issued to a different patient.
The dispute deepened after the individual linked to the report publicly addressed the matter, prompting petitions and renewed calls for investigation, including concerns raised by the Nigerian Cancer Society.
In a post shared on Instagram on Wednesday, Blessing Okoro expressed regret over the situation, apologising for the backlash while insisting her health condition is genuine.
“I am sorry for the unnecessary drama, embarrassment, and controversy surrounding my health issues.
”I sincerely apologise. Going forward, I promise to be transparent with all my medical reports, including my scans and biopsy results,” she said.
She added that she intended to make her medical journey more public going forward, saying she would share updates and document her treatment process.
“Please be patient with me, as I will take you along on this journey, just like I did during my liposuction and BBL journey. I did not lie about my health issues.
”I will start by officially uploading my scan results and biopsy details and keep you all informed every step of the way.”
Addressing donors, she expressed appreciation for the support she received but also acknowledged the concerns raised by some contributors.
“Thank you so much for all the love and well wishes. To well-meaning Nigerians who contributed towards my health, I am deeply grateful and do not take your support for granted.
“To those who feel uncomfortable with the controversies, I am willing to offer refunds. Kindly send a WhatsApp message or DM with your receipt and account details, and you will be refunded.”
In further posts, she shared images of herself undergoing medical scans and showed her hand, saying repeated hospital procedures had taken a physical toll.
“My hands have been through a lot due to repeated punctures while trying to access my veins,” she said.
In another lengthy caption accompanying her apology, she reiterated her regret, introduced herself formally, and again promised transparency while appealing for patience from the public.
The situation has continued to generate mixed reactions online, with some users demanding clearer medical proof, while others are raising wider concerns about accountability and trust in online fundraising campaigns.
