Newly elected Bayelsa LG Chairmen receive Certificate of Return

The Bayelsa Independent Electoral Commission (BYSIEC) on Monday presented Certificates of Return to winners of the state April 6 local government councils poll.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won all eight Chairmanship and councillorship 105 seats at the poll.
Presenting the certificate of returns to the chairmen and their vices at the NUJ Press Center Yenagoa, Dr Peter Singabele the Chairman of Bayelsa State Independent Electoral Commission (BYSIEC) congratulated them for their victory at the poll.
He said, ”On behalf of BYSIEC, I heartily welcome all of you to this solemn ceremony. Similar ceremony will be performed in the eight local government from tomorrow for the councillors who were elected.
“This is a brief ceremony but very important. This is the last step on the part of BYSIEC in the 2024 elections.
” When you are eventually sworn in, you can now operate as a duly elected local government chairmen and that is the third tier of the government.”
He urged them to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people at the grassroots.
Responding on behalf of other elected officials, the Chairman of Yenagoa local government council, Mr Bulodisiye Ndiwari thanked Gôvernor Douye Diri and other stakeholders for their support.
”I appreciate the Governor and his Deputy, also the party for giving us this platform to become chairmen and vices of the various local government councils, ” he said.
He pledged to justify the confidence reposed on them by striving hard to improve the quality of lives of the people.
”We also thank our teaming supporters for all the supports and Bayelsans. We promise to do our best and serve you faithfully and we promise that governance at the grassroot will get better, ” he added .
The newly elected chairmen are Bulodisiye Ndiwari for Yenagoa LG, Febo Lucky is for Brass LG, Golden Jeremiah emerged winner for Ogboa LG
Others are David Alagoa, the immediate past Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources for Nembe LG, while Target Segibo is for Southern Ijaw LG.
Lelei Tariye is for Kolokuma/Opokuma LG, Onniye Isaac is for Ekeremor LG, while Alice Allen-Tangi is for Sagbama LG.
