NDC signals a new dawn for Delta

As political conversations ahead of the 2027 governorship election begin to gather momentum across Delta State, a new name is steadily emerging in discussions about credible leadership, good governance, and people-oriented development, Chief, Barrister Ejaife Odebala of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

Prominent voices within the party and supporters across the state have continued to project Chief Ejaife Odebala as a leader prepared to reposition Delta State through transparency, industrial revival, youth empowerment, and inclusive governance.

The respected legal practitioner and proud son of Okpe Kingdom is widely described by supporters as a man of integrity, discipline, and vision who understands that leadership is fundamentally about service to the people.

Political observers said his emergence under the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) reflects growing public desire for a fresh direction in the state’s political leadership.

Speaking in support of his aspiration, Hon. Awatorhe Ovie, House of Representatives Aspirant for the OSU Federal Constituency under the NDC, described Chief Ejaife Odebala as a man equipped with the competence and character needed to lead Delta State into a new era of progress and accountability.

According to him, Chief Ejaife’s administration would prioritise economic revival through the resuscitation of dormant industries and factories across key industrial towns such as Sapele and Warri, while extending industrial and economic opportunities to all 25 local government areas of the state.

Supporters believe such policies could significantly reduce unemployment and restore Delta State’s position as a major industrial hub in the South-South region.

On education and youth development, Chief Ejaife is said to be passionate about bridging the gap between academic learning and employment opportunities.

His proposed agenda focuses on creating graduate employment schemes and ensuring that students leaving tertiary institutions are equipped with practical skills capable of meeting modern economic demands.

The governorship hopeful has also continued to receive commendation for his emphasis on women empowerment and grassroots economic support.

His supporters maintain that market women and small-scale traders across Delta State would benefit from direct empowerment initiatives and access to soft loans designed to strengthen local businesses and improve household incomes.

Healthcare development remains another major pillar of his vision for Delta State.

According to party stakeholders, Chief Ejaife plans to ensure that every local government area has functional and properly equipped healthcare facilities staffed with qualified medical personnel to improve access to quality healthcare services for residents.

Within the Nigeria Democratic Congress, many members describe the party as a platform built on fairness, transparency, internal democracy, and equal opportunities for qualified individuals to emerge and serve the people without the influence of political godfathers.

Political analysts said the growing attention around Chief Ejaife Odebala’s aspiration reflects increasing calls by residents for a leadership style centered on accountability, competence, and practical governance capable of addressing the economic and social challenges facing Delta State.

As preparations for the 2027 elections continue, supporters of the NDC insist that the time has come for Deltans to embrace a new direction focused on industrial growth, youth employment, women empowerment, improved healthcare, and responsible governance.

For many of his supporters, Odebala represents more than a political candidate; he represents a renewed hope for a stronger, more prosperous, and people-focused Delta State under the banner of the Nigeria Democratic Congress.
