Niniola loses husband, Michael Ndika

Afro-house singer Niniola has announced the death of her husband and long-time manager, Michael Ndika, drawing public attention to a marriage she had largely kept out of the spotlight for years.
The singer broke the news via her Instagram stories, writing, “God took him. My husband died.”
Ndika, also known as Big Mike, had managed her career for several years while running the music platform NaijaReview. The cause of death was not disclosed.
Ndika and Niniola were reportedly married for 13 years, though the relationship was kept mostly private.
The singer had previously denied being married during a radio interview in October 2025.
Their relationship is said to have begun in 2013 after Niniola attempted to reach producer Sarz following her appearance on Project Fame West Africa.
Ndika, who was then managing the producer, later became her manager around the period she released her debut single “Ibadi” in 2014.
Before venturing into entertainment management, Ndika worked in the technology sector as a Systems Engineer and later Head of IT at Associated Haulages.
He also founded NaijaReview in 2011, an early platform dedicated to promoting Afro-house and African music in Nigeria.
Since the announcement, condolence messages have continued to flood Niniola’s social media pages as fans, colleagues, and industry stakeholders express sympathy over the loss.
