NDDC, TechNexus unveil Port Harcourt tech expo

TechNexus Limited, in collaboration with the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has unveiled plans for the Port Harcourt Tech Expo 2026, with this year’s edition themed “Syntropy.”

The two-day technology conference and exhibition is scheduled to take place on Thursday, June 11, and Friday, June 12, 2026, at the EUI Events Centre in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

Organisers of the annual event said the expo is expected to attract entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, technology experts and creatives from across the Niger Delta, other parts of Nigeria and the diaspora.

Managing Director of TechNexus, Belema George, disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday that the 2026 edition would feature keynote speeches, panel sessions, start-up pitch contests, product showcases and networking opportunities designed to encourage innovation and collaboration.

According to him, the initiative is focused on driving technology-based economic growth in Rivers State and the wider South-South region.

George explained that the theme “Syntropy” was inspired by the idea of constructive synergy, reflecting the belief that partnerships among innovators, investors and institutions could fast-track development in the region.

He noted that the partnership with the NDDC aligns with the commission’s core mandate of promoting sustainable development in the Niger Delta through innovation and strategic investments.

The TechNexus boss further revealed that several private sector players, including financial institutions, energy companies and telecommunications firms operating within the region, had also supported the initiative.

He added that the expo was strategically designed to position the Niger Delta as a leading hub for innovation, enterprise and digital transformation.

Speaking on the significance of the event, George said: “The Port Harcourt Tech Expo is our declaration that the Niger Delta is open for innovation.

”We are building a platform where the most brilliant minds in our region can meet the resources, mentorship and market access they need to thrive. SYNTROPY is not just an event, it is the beginning of a movement.”

He further stated: “The Port Harcourt Tech Expo 2026 is proudly supported by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), whose mandate to accelerate development in the Niger Delta region aligns directly with the Expo’s objectives.

”The NDDC’s partnership underscores the importance of technology and innovation as critical drivers of regional transformation.”

George also acknowledged the backing of notable private sector stakeholders.

“In addition, a number of distinguished private sector stakeholders, including financial institutions, energy sector corporations and telecommunications companies operating in the region, have extended their support to the initiative,” he said.

He added that TechNexus Limited remained open to additional sponsorships and partnerships from organisations committed to advancing digital innovation and economic growth in the Niger Delta.
