Fubara praises APC process as Tinubu wins Rivers

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers has applauded the conduct and organisation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary held in Rivers State, describing the exercise as smooth, credible and well coordinated.

The governor, who functioned as the State Collation Officer for the exercise, announced that the poll produced a decisive outcome in which President Bola Ahmed Tinubu secured all valid votes cast in the state.

According to figures presented by him, the APC in Rivers State recorded a total of 297,068 registered members for the exercise, while 280,082 delegates were accredited to participate in the voting process.

He further disclosed that every accredited voter participated and cast their ballot.

He stated that the result showed a unanimous outcome for the president, while his sole challenger, Stanley Osifo, did not receive any vote in the Rivers State exercise.

Fubara, while addressing the outcome, expressed satisfaction with the organisation and transparency of the process, attributing its success to proper preparation by the party leadership.

“I feel that this process has recorded one of the most organised outings of our great party in recent times.

”The only reason it came out this way has to do with good planning. In all, I want to say that I’m really impressed with the process,” he said.

He further explained that after a careful review of the results, he was confident in the accuracy of the collation.

“So, I can say here that having taken time to go through the figures diligently, I Siminalayi Fubara, who is standing as the State Collation Officer, hereby certify that the information contained in my own spreadsheet represents the true, correct and accurate record of the summary of results from the 23 LGAs of Rivers State,” he added.

The governor also noted that although the outcome clearly showed President Tinubu’s dominance in the Rivers State primary, the official results would still be forwarded to the APC national secretariat in Abuja for final announcement and documentation.
