NDC Moves to Resolve Kano Internal Party Disputes

A delegation of a political movement within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has met behind closed doors with the party’s national leader, Henry Seriake Dickson, and other senior officials in an effort to resolve internal disagreements in Kano State.
The meeting, which lasted several hours, focused on fostering unity within the party ahead of future political engagements and ensuring full integration of all stakeholders into the party’s structure.
In a statement issued after the talks, the NDC said Dickson and other leaders were actively mediating reconciliation efforts aimed at promoting inclusiveness and broader participation among members.
The party reiterated its commitment to internal democracy, stressing that it would not impose candidates in Kano State or any other part of the country.
According to the statement, the discussions were constructive and recorded progress in addressing outstanding grievances among stakeholders.
The NDC also cautioned members of the public against relying on unofficial lists allegedly containing results of party primary elections.
It clarified that no official primary results had been released for any state and urged supporters to disregard documents circulating on social media and other platforms claiming to show outcomes.
The reconciliation move is part of a wider strategy by the party leadership to strengthen unity and consolidate its structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Kano State remains a key political battleground, and the party said efforts are ongoing to ensure cohesion and stability across its formations in the state and other strategic regions.
