Iran Announces Funeral Dates for Late Khamenei

Iranian state media has announced a schedule for the funeral ceremonies of the country’s late Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, with events planned across several cities in July.
According to the report, farewell ceremonies will begin in Tehran on July 4 and 5.
A state funeral is scheduled to hold in the Iranian capital on July 6.
Further religious ceremonies would take place in the holy city of Qom on July 7.
Khamenei is expected to be finally laid to rest at the Imam Reza shrine in Mashhad on July 9.
The announcement comes amid continued geopolitical tensions across the Middle East region.
Uncertainty also remains over a possible diplomatic agreement between Iran and the United States.
Former U.S. President Donald Trump claimed a deal with Tehran would be signed on Sunday.
He also said the Strait of Hormuz would be opened to all once the agreement takes effect.
However, Iran’s Foreign Ministry said such a signing was unlikely to occur on Sunday.
Officials indicated that any agreement may instead be reached in the coming days.
Meanwhile, hostilities continue in several parts of the region.
Israel carried out strikes in southern Lebanon that reportedly killed at least five people.
The attacks were accompanied by displacement orders affecting multiple communities.
In Gaza, Israeli air raids and artillery fire killed two people in Khan Younis.
Additional injuries were reported in separate strikes in Gaza City.
Hezbollah said it launched 22 attacks on Israeli positions within 24 hours.
The group claimed to have used drones and rockets against military targets in southern Lebanon.
It also said it intercepted Israeli drones using surface-to-air missiles during the exchanges.
The developments underscore ongoing instability and escalating tensions across the Middle East.
