The governor made the pledge during a strategic engagement between the Ondo State Government and the African Development Bank (AfDB) on Tuesday.
The meeting focused on identifying areas of collaboration capable of supporting the state’s long-term economic transformation.
Representing the governor, Special Adviser on Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Investment, Dr. Summy Smart Francis, outlined the administration’s development priorities.
He said the government remains committed to fostering strong relationships with reputable local and international development partners.
According to Francis, such partnerships are essential for attracting investments, technical expertise and development financing.
He noted that the engagement with the AfDB demonstrates the administration’s determination to utilise global partnerships for sustainable development.
Discussions at the meeting centred on key sectors with significant growth potential and economic impact.
The areas identified include agriculture, renewable energy, infrastructure development, enterprise support, youth empowerment and job creation.
Francis described the AfDB as a leading development finance institution with extensive experience in supporting transformative projects across Africa.
He said the bank’s interventions have contributed to economic growth, poverty reduction and regional integration in many countries.
According to him, Ondo State stands to benefit from deeper collaboration with the institution through strategic development initiatives.
The discussions also align with the objectives of the state government’s OUR EASE Agenda.
The agenda prioritises industrialisation, investment promotion, entrepreneurship development and improved living standards for residents.
Francis disclosed that the government is exploring opportunities for technical assistance, capacity building and access to development funding.
He added that attention is being given to programmes that can strengthen small and medium-scale enterprises across the state.
The administration is also seeking initiatives that will improve agricultural productivity and expand critical infrastructure.
Job creation for young people remains a major focus of the proposed partnership discussions.
Francis stressed that the government is committed to creating a business-friendly environment that encourages investment and enterprise growth.
He said the administration will continue to pursue opportunities that enhance economic prosperity and improve the welfare of residents.
The engagement marks another step in Ondo State’s efforts to attract strategic partnerships capable of driving sustainable development and inclusive growth.
