Nollywood Actor Joseph Momodu Joins U.S. Army After Training

Nollywood actor Joseph Momodu has announced that he has enlisted in the United States Army after completing Basic Combat Training, describing the achievement as the fulfilment of a personal ambition and a tribute to his late father.
Momodu shared the news in an Instagram post, where he reflected on the intensity of the 10-week training programme, saying it pushed him physically and mentally while demanding discipline and resilience.
He disclosed that he now serves as Specialist (SPC) J.A. Momodu with the 1st Platoon, Charlie Company, 3-10, 3rd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
According to him, the experience was one of the most challenging phases of his life, but one he was determined to complete successfully.
Momodu said his decision to join the U.S. Army was also deeply personal, as it honoured his late father, who served in the Nigeria Police Force.
“I picked up the baton where he left off in the Nigerian Police Force and carried it forward by getting enlisted into the United States Army,” he wrote.
He added that he was grateful to God for completing the training after passing the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) examination on his first attempt.
The actor dedicated the milestone to his late father and the Royal Family of Oba Momodu II, Avyuele Clan in Agbede, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
Momodu also appreciated his support team and the U.S. Army Recruiting Station in Burbank, California, saying the achievement marks a new chapter in his life.
