NUPRC Hosts Golf Tournament to Boost Industry Ties

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) has held its maiden Upstream Invitational Golf Tournament in Ogunu as part of efforts to deepen collaboration and networking within the oil and gas sector.

The grand finale of the event attracted top industry figures, including the Chairman of the commission, Magnus Abe, the Commission Chief Executive, Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, and the Authority Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, Rabiu Abdullahi Umar.

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, was represented at the occasion by the Secretary to the State Government, Kingsley Eze Emu.

Speaking at the event, Eyesan said the tournament was designed to go beyond sports, serving as a platform for stakeholders in the oil and gas industry to build relationships and strengthen cooperation.

He noted that closer engagement among operators and regulators would support the sustainable growth of Nigeria’s upstream petroleum sector.

Umar also described the event as a useful networking avenue, saying it had already begun generating valuable connections that could translate into future collaboration across the industry.

The tournament is part of wider initiatives by the NUPRC to encourage interaction among players in Nigeria’s oil and gas value chain and enhance sectoral coordination.
