Atiku Alleges Plot Against ADC Ahead of 2027

African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has alleged a coordinated plot by elements within the ruling establishment to keep the party off the ballot ahead of the 2027 general election.
In a statement by his spokesman, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku said he had received credible information suggesting renewed political and legal moves aimed at excluding the ADC from participating in the presidential election.
He claimed the party had become the main target because it represents a strong opposition platform, warning against any attempt to undermine Nigeria’s democratic process.
According to Atiku, recent developments indicate a pattern in which state institutions, litigation and administrative actions are allegedly used to weaken opposition parties.
He called on Nigerians to defend democracy and resist efforts to determine which opposition parties should contest the next general election.
Meanwhile, Atiku’s running mate, Rotimi Amaechi, accused politicians of stealing election result sheets at polling units, saying the practice endangers the lives of ad hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Amaechi urged voters, particularly youths, to remain at polling units until votes are counted and results are uploaded, insisting that election outcomes are most vulnerable to manipulation after voters leave the centres.
He also called on Nigerians to insist on transparency during vote collation, arguing that active citizen participation remains key to protecting the integrity of future elections.
