World champions Spain have emerged as the most represented nation in FIFA’s official Team of the Tournament for the 2026 World Cup, with three players earning places in the prestigious lineup.
FIFA released the Best XI following the conclusion of the tournament, which was hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, selecting standout performers from seven different countries.
The team, arranged in a 4-3-3 formation, recognised players who delivered exceptional performances throughout the global football showpiece.
Spain’s title-winning squad contributed defender Marc Cucurella, right-back Pedro Porro, and midfield maestro Rodri, whose commanding displays played a key role in their successful campaign.
France also produced three players despite losing out in the race for the trophy.
Forward duo Kylian Mbappé and Michael Olise were selected alongside defender Dayot Upamecano, who impressed at the heart of the French defence.
Runners-up Argentina had two representatives, with captain Lionel Messi earning a place in the attacking line after another influential tournament, while Lisandro Martínez was rewarded for his defensive consistency.
England midfielder Jude Bellingham made the list following a series of outstanding performances, while Norway striker Erling Haaland was included after finishing among the tournament’s leading goalscorers.
One of the biggest surprises in the selection was Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha, whose remarkable saves and consistent performances earned him recognition among the world’s best players at the tournament.
