Mr Frank Archibong, the Akwa Ibom Commissioner, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, says the directive for local government transition chairmen to submit scorecards is in order.
Archibong who made the statement in Uyo on Wednesday when the transition chairmen visited him, urged them to comply with the directive.
Recall that Gov. Umo Eno recently directed the 31 local government council transition chairmen in the state to submit their scorecards before May 20.
The governor had said that the essence  of the directive was to ensure accountability in service delivery.
The commissioner said that as leaders of the third tier government, their programmes should impact positively on the people.
“So as leaders in your respective local government areas, you are expected to live above board” he said.
He also said that the state government had invested hugely in security to ensure adequate protection of lives and property.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr Offiong Offor, urged the chairmen to cultivate farmlands within their domains in line with state government’s policy on agriculture.
”The governor’s policy on agriculture is about food sufficiency, we need to key into this initiative.
“As a ministry, we are ready to support you with inputs, the overall aim is to ensure massive food production in the state,” she said.
