Gov. Eno constitutes teams to verify LGs projects

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has constituted verification teams, to ascertain projects executed by local government Transition Committee chairmen and their members across 31 council areas in the state.
Eno constituted Transition Committees across all the council areas in the state after the expiration of the tenure of office of Chairmen and Councillors six months ago, pending when elections would be conducted in the council.
The verification team was announced on Tuesday morning by the office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prince Enobong Uwah, listing all the team heads and their members, as well as local governments to be visited.
The list which was made available to newsmen in Uyo on Tuesday morning, showed that all the commissioners are heading the verification teams, while some House of Assembly members are members.
A statement from the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, said the teams have the mandate to verify local government projects and authenticate them.
The statement reads in parts, “His Excellency, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno has approved the appointment of the following Government officials as members of the Verification Team to authenticate the projects executed by the respective Chairmen and Members of the 31 local government transition committee during their six months tenure in Office.”
