NNU ELECTION 2025: Electoral Committee tasks contestants, electorate to abide by the rules

Chairman of the Ndokwa Neku Union, NNU, Electoral Committee, Ogbuiji Elvis Kaine Eneduw, has charged indigenes of Ndokwa Ethnic Nationality of Delta State to obtain their expression of Interest forms to contest for the February 8, 2025 elections into various leadership positions.
Ogbuiji Kaine made the call during a news interview in Kwale adding that it is to enable them contribute to Socio-Poilitical, Economic and Cultural advancement of the communities and people of the ethnic nationality.
The chairman said his advice is in pursuance of peace, tranquility and orderliness before, during and after the up coming general elections of NNU in February this year,
He tasked the prospective candidates and voters delegates, “To conduct themselves in an orderly manner and as stipulated in the rules and regulations guiding the Union elections.
“There is the need for a peaceful and conducive atmosphere throughout the period of your campaigns and election proper.
“So I encourage the contestants and their followers to shun all forms of statements, movements and actions that could lead to chaos, violence and crisis throughout the exercise”.
He also informed that due to some logistics issues, the closing date for collection of nomination forms has been extended from January 15th to January 20th 2025.
Chief Kaine further advised, “The various contestats to embark on community campaign tours of Ndokwa Nation to showcase themselves and their manifestos to the people.
“We assure Ndokwa people, particularly the contestants, of a level playing ground for the elections, as electoral committee members are people of integrity, honesty and probity.
“There will be transparency in the whole process, which will guarantee a free, fair and credible elections”.
The clan heads were also called upon to ensure that they submit names of their delegates to the electoral committee on or before 23rd January 2025.
He further warned all contestant that vote buying will not be tolerated and advised delegates not to silence their voices by selling their votes.
