FG inaugurates committee on host community development programme

The federal government has inaugurated an inter-ministerial committee to strengthen coordination and enhance compliance in the implementation of the Host Community Development (HCD) Programme.

The inauguration took place in Abuja on Tuesday and was jointly presided over by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Patience Oyekunle, and her counterpart in the Ministry of Regional Development, Dr. Mary Ada Ogbe.

A statement issued by Rotimi Sanusi on behalf of the Head of Press and Public Relations in the ministry said the committee was established strictly as a collaborative and advisory body.

According to the statement, the committee is mandated to facilitate coordination and promote effective information sharing among relevant stakeholders in line with presidential directives on the programme’s implementation.

Membership of the committee was drawn from the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, the Ministry of Regional Development, and the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).

Officials said the initiative is aimed at improving synergy among agencies involved in the Host Community Development Programme and ensuring more effective delivery of its objectives.
