President Trump hails UK as America’s closest enduring ally

United States President Donald Trump has described the United Kingdom as America’s closest and most enduring ally since independence, underscoring centuries of shared history, language, and cultural ties between both nations.

Speaking on the long-standing transatlantic relationship, Trump highlighted what he called the deep-rooted connection between both countries, stretching from colonial-era heritage to modern-day cooperation in defence and global security.

He said Americans continue to benefit from that shared legacy, noting cultural links and historical traditions that shaped both nations’ identities.

“American patriots today can sing of My Country, ’Tis of Thee, the sweet land of liberty, only because our colonial ancestors first sang God Save the King,” he said.

Trump added that the bond remained visible in present-day cooperation.

“We see today the living symbol of this centuries-old bond. We share the same roots, speak the same language, and hold the same values.

”Together, our warriors have defended the same extraordinary civilisation under the same banners of red, white, and blue,” he stated.

The remarks come amid ongoing discussions on U.S.–UK relations, with both countries continuing to collaborate on defence, trade, intelligence sharing, and global security priorities.

Officials on both sides have repeatedly described the relationship as a “special partnership,” even as global geopolitical tensions continue to shape diplomatic and economic engagement between allied nations.
