Madonna, Shakira, BTS set World Cup halftime show

A major entertainment spectacle is being planned for the 2026 FIFA World Cup final in the United States, with global music stars Madonna, Shakira, and BTS expected to headline the halftime show.
The performance would mirror the format of large-scale concert productions integrated into a football final.
The match would be staged in New Jersey in July, with the entertainment segment scheduled during the interval break.
Organisers intend the show to transform the halftime period into a high-profile musical showcase featuring multiple international acts, a first for a World Cup final.
The performance is expected to last around 11 minutes, carefully designed to fit within the standard halftime window of a football match.
FIFA organisers have emphasised that the production will respect match timing while still delivering a visually impactful stage presentation.
Shakira is also preparing a new World Cup-themed song, which will feature Nigerian artist Burna Boy.
She has previously been associated with World Cup performances, strengthening her reputation as one of the tournament’s most recognisable musical contributors.
Madonna, who has maintained global success across several decades, recently performed at a major music festival in the United States.
BTS, one of South Korea’s most influential pop groups, have also resumed full group activities following the completion of mandatory military service by members.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino described the planned show as a landmark moment for the tournament’s entertainment direction.
The production is being coordinated with input from Coldplay’s Chris Martin and is also linked to a global education funding initiative aimed at supporting children worldwide.
