The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and his wife, Queen Mariam, have been blessed with the arrival of twin princes in the royal household of Oduduwa.

The development was announced in a statement issued on Friday in Ile-Ife by the Director of Media and Public Affairs at the Ooni’s Palace, Mr Moses Olafare.

Olafare said the monarch expressed deep gratitude to God, referred to as Olodumare, for the safe delivery of the twins and the good health of both mother and children.

He noted that the birth of the twin princes has sparked widespread celebration across Ile-Ife, with friends, associates and well-wishers sending congratulatory messages to the royal family.

Oba Ogunwusi described the arrival of the twins as a special blessing not only to the royal household but also to the entire House of Oduduwa.

He also appreciated members of the public who have continued to support the palace with prayers, love and goodwill, describing the moment as one of joy and thanksgiving.

The Ooni expressed happiness over the safe delivery and reiterated his gratitude to Olodumare for mercy and favour upon the royal family.

He prayed that the newborn princes would grow in good health, wisdom, peace and greatness, and become worthy ambassadors of the cultural heritage of Ile-Ife and the Yoruba nation.
