Trump warns Iran as peace talks stall amid rising tensions

United States President Donald Trump has warned that time is running out for Iran, as peace negotiations between both sides continue to stall amid escalating tensions and renewed attacks in the Gulf region.
Trump, writing on his Truth Social platform, said Iran must move quickly toward a peace agreement or face severe consequences, insisting that “there won’t be anything left” if diplomatic efforts collapse.
The United States and Iran have been engaged in indirect talks mediated by Pakistan, but efforts to secure a lasting deal have failed, with both sides maintaining a fragile and repeatedly tested truce since April.
Recent developments have further strained the situation, including drone incidents reported in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, where authorities said aerial attacks were intercepted or caused limited damage.
Regional officials have blamed Iran-linked groups operating across Iraq and Yemen for some of the disruptions.
The conflict has also disrupted key shipping routes, including the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil corridor, while proxy tensions involving groups such as Hezbollah have added to instability in Lebanon and northern Israel.
Iranian and U.S. positions remained far apart, with reports indicating disagreement over nuclear restrictions, frozen assets, and broader post-war arrangements.
While Iran accuses Washington of offering no meaningful concessions, U.S. officials insist Tehran must scale down its nuclear programme.
Despite ongoing diplomatic engagement through mediators, no breakthrough has been achieved, leaving the ceasefire increasingly fragile as regional tensions continue to rise.
