Shakira, Burna Boy drop 2026 World Cup anthem video

Shakira and Burna Boy have released the official music video for their 2026 FIFA World Cup anthem titled “Dai Dai”, featuring cameo appearances from global football stars including Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, and Erling Haaland.

The four-minute video opens with the footballers stepping onto the pitch and declaring they were “ready” for Shakira ahead of the tournament. It was directed by Hannah Lux Davis and filmed in Miami.

The visuals begin with Shakira standing atop Mexico City’s Angel of Independence before shifting into desert scenes where African children are seen dancing alongside her.

Burna Boy later appears for his verse, while Shakira performs atop a glowing globe under a star-filled sky.

The video transitions into a stadium sequence where dancers wear outfits inspired by the flags of countries set to compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The closing scenes feature archival World Cup footage alongside tributes to football legends such as Diego Maradona, Paolo Maldini, Romário, Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, and Kaká.

“Dai Dai” becomes Shakira’s second official World Cup anthem, following her global hit Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) released for the 2010 tournament in South Africa.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to begin on 11 June at Estadio Azteca and end on 19 July at MetLife Stadium.
Shakira is also billed as a co-headliner for the tournament’s final halftime show alongside Madonna and BTS.
