Eid-el-Kabir: Oborevwori urges prayers for peace, national development

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta has felicitated with Muslims in the state and across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir, calling for prayers for peace, unity, and national development.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, the Governor urged Muslim faithful to reflect on the values of sacrifice, compassion, and selflessness which the celebration represents.
Oborevwori encouraged increased acts of charity, particularly towards the poor, the needy, and other vulnerable members of society, describing almsgiving as a key principle of Islam.
He also called on Nigerians to remain committed to acts of service and support for one another, noting that collective sacrifice and dedication to nation-building are essential in difficult times.
The governor stressed the importance of peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths, urging citizens to promote harmony and tolerance during the festive period and beyond.
He expressed optimism that with unity of purpose and sustained prayers, Nigeria would continue to make progress in peace, security, and sustainable development.
Oborevwori wished Muslims a peaceful and fulfilling Eid celebration and urged them to celebrate responsibly while upholding the values of faith, sacrifice, and love for humanity.
