NAF Reaffirms Commitment to Rescue Abducted Oyo Schoolchildren

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar Aneke, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to the safe rescue of abducted schoolchildren and their teachers in Oyo State.
Aneke gave the assurance on Saturday in Abuja during the Nigerian Air Force second quarter 2026 route march exercise.
He was represented at the event by the Chief of Policy and Plans, Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Abdullahi.
The CAS said the Nigerian Air Force remained fully committed to supporting ongoing security operations across the country, adding that it would continue to work in close synergy with other security agencies to protect lives and property while advancing national security objectives.
According to him, maintaining a healthy and physically fit workforce is essential for meeting the demands of modern military operations and ensuring effective contribution to national security efforts.
He explained that the route march exercise was also designed to promote teamwork, camaraderie, esprit de corps, and overall wellness among personnel, while strengthening the unity required for effective service delivery.
Aneke expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for his continued support for the development and operational readiness of the Nigerian Air Force.
He also commended senior officers, officers, airmen, airwomen, and civilian staff for their dedication and active participation in the exercise.
