Delta Assembly Marks 3rd Anniversary With Thanksgiving

The Delta House of Assembly will on Sunday, June 14, 2026, hold a thanksgiving service and reception to commemorate the third anniversary of the inauguration of the 8th Assembly.

The event is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Region 34 Headquarters, Unity Model Parish, located behind the Junior Staff Quarters in Asaba.

Chairman of the Planning Committee, Hon. Augustine Uroye (PhD, JP), in a statement, said the thanksgiving is organised to appreciate God for His guidance and protection over the Assembly over the past three years.

Uroye, who represents Warri South 1 Constituency, extended an invitation to Deltans and members of the public to attend the event and share in the celebration.

Meanwhile, the 8th Assembly, led by Speaker Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has continued to emphasise its core responsibilities of lawmaking, oversight, and representation in line with democratic principles and values.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Nkem Nwaeke, noted that the current Assembly has recorded notable legislative achievements since its inauguration, including the passage of people-oriented bills and resolutions aimed at promoting good governance, accountability, and prosperity for Deltans.

He added that since its inauguration on June 13, 2023, the Assembly has focused on legislative interventions across key sectors of the state economy, aligning with the MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration.

Nwaeke said the thanksgiving event would bring together lawmakers, staff, families, political stakeholders, and the people of Delta across the 29 constituencies to appreciate what he described as God’s faithfulness in the Assembly’s journey.

He also urged the people of Delta, regardless of political or religious affiliation, to join in the celebration and reflect on the Assembly’s service to the state over the past three years.
