IGP Disu Calls for Stronger West Africa Security Cooperation

Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu has urged stronger regional cooperation among West African countries to combat transnational organised crime.

Speaking at a meeting of INTERPOL National Central Bureaus in Abuja, he called for improved intelligence sharing and coordinated cross-border operations.

Disu said criminal groups exploit weak borders to engage in trafficking, terrorism, cybercrime, and money laundering across the region.

He noted that Nigeria is expanding the use of INTERPOL systems, including the I-24/7 network, to improve real-time security collaboration.

Participants at the meeting reaffirmed commitment to joint action against organised crime and strengthening trust among member states.
