Delta Govt.Denies Rumours of Uduaghan’s Death

 

The Delta State Government has dismissed viral social media reports claiming that former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan is dead, describing the claim as false and misleading.

The clarification was issued amid growing concern triggered by the circulation of the rumour online.

Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, Ossai Ovie Success, said he personally verified the claim with the former governor’s family.

He explained that he contacted Uduaghan’s daughter, Orode Uduaghan, who confirmed that her father is alive and in good health.

“I spoke directly with his daughter Orode Uduaghan on phone, and she confirmed that the news is false. Dr Uduaghan is alive,” he stated.

Ossai expressed disappointment over the spread of unverified information on social media.

He warned that false death reports cause unnecessary panic and emotional distress to families and supporters.

“I am disappointed at those who spread such false information without verification,” he said.

The media aide described the circulation of fake news as irresponsible and harmful to public trust.

He said such reports inflict emotional pain on relatives and admirers of public figures.

“Spreading fake news about someone’s death is cruel, irresponsible, and causes unnecessary pain,” he added.

Ossai urged the public to disregard the viral report and verify information before sharing it online.

He stressed the importance of relying on credible sources for sensitive news.

“I urge the public to disregard the rumor and avoid sharing unverified information,” he said.

He reaffirmed that the former governor remains alive and well.

“Dr. Uduaghan is fine and not dead,” he stated.

The clarification comes after widespread circulation of the false report across social media platforms, sparking concern among residents and political associates.
