NDC guber candidate rejects campaign intimidation allegations

Supporters of the New Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship candidate in Delta State, Deacon Chris Iyovwaye, say an alleged attempt to disrupt his hometown visit failed as the event ended peacefully with strong support from residents and party members.

According to Hon. Obubo Koripamo Davies, founder of Rainbow Nation, Iyovwaye received a warm reception during his visit to Aghalokpe in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, where community leaders and supporters gathered to welcome him.

Davies alleged that some individuals attempted to interfere with the gathering but said their efforts did not affect the success of the event.

Reacting to the reported incident, Deacon Chris Iyovwaye condemned what he described as political intimidation and called on security agencies to investigate the matter.

Iyovwaye reaffirmed the NDC’s commitment to peaceful and issue-based campaigns, saying his focus remains on good governance, accountability and practical solutions for the people of Delta State.

“No amount of intimidation will stop our mission to build a better Delta State,” Iyovwaye said.

The NDC candidate urged supporters to remain committed to peaceful political participation as the campaign continues.
