Enugu Air aircraft suffers runway incursion in Benin, passengers safe

Enugu Air has confirmed that one of its aircraft operating into Benin Airport was involved in a runway incursion after landing, with all passengers and crew members safely evacuated without injuries.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the airline said the incident recorded no casualties and that emergency procedures were immediately activated following the occurrence.
“Enugu Air wishes to inform the public that one of our aircraft operating into Benin experienced a runway incursion after landing today,” the airline stated.
It added that all passengers and crew members had safely disembarked, stressing that there were no injuries or fatalities.
The airline disclosed that the aircraft has been secured, while relevant aviation authorities have been notified in line with standard safety procedures.
According to the statement, an assessment of the aircraft and the circumstances surrounding the incident is currently ongoing to determine the cause and necessary next steps.
Enugu Air also warned passengers that the incident may temporarily affect some flight schedules, adding that travellers affected by possible changes would be contacted directly and provided with necessary support.
Reassuring customers, the airline said, “The safety of our passengers, crew, and operations remains our highest priority.”
The airline pledged to continue providing updates through its official communication channels as investigations into the runway incident progress.
