jRMD celebrates life at 65, calls it extra time

Veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo has opened up about his journey through life, revealing that turning 65 has made him more grateful for every moment he gets to experience.

The respected actor, popularly known as RMD, said his latest milestone birthday carries a deeper meaning because both his parents passed away before they clocked 60.

Speaking on The Morayo Show, RMD described his life as a blessing and said he sees each day as additional time he has been given.

“I’m living extra time because neither of my parents lived to 60,” he said.

The actor explained that this reality has shaped his outlook, making him appreciate good health, longevity and the opportunities that come with each new day.

Beyond reflecting on his personal journey, RMD also shared his thoughts on Nigeria’s future.

Despite the nation’s struggles, he said he remains hopeful, pointing to the rise of self-employment and entrepreneurship as a sign that many young Nigerians are creating new opportunities for themselves.

The screen legend also addressed the question of his youthful appearance and continued energy. He attributed it to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, suggesting that discipline, wellness and positive habits have played a major role in keeping him active.

At 65, RMD continues to celebrate not just his achievements in entertainment but also the gift of life itself, embracing the years ahead with gratitude and optimism.
