A member of the Delta House of Assembly, Hon. Bridget Anyafulu, has commended Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori for convening the Delta State Economic Summit, describing it as a strategic initiative for sustainable economic growth and inclusive development.
The summit is scheduled to hold from Monday, Aug. 3 to Wednesday, Aug. 5.
In a statement on Monday in Asaba, Anyafulu, who represents Oshimili South Constituency in the House, said the summit reflects the administration’s commitment to long-term planning through collaboration with critical stakeholders across key sectors.
She said the initiative would bring together government, investors, development partners, the private sector, academia and industry leaders to develop practical strategies that would strengthen Delta’s economy and competitiveness.
According to the lawmaker, the summit offers a unique opportunity to showcase Delta’s investment potential, encourage innovation, promote enterprise and attract partnerships capable of driving sustainable economic transformation.
Anyafulu noted that Oborevwori’s administration has continued to demonstrate transparency, accountability and responsible governance by implementing policies and programmes that have delivered measurable development across communities in Delta.
She added that the summit would reinforce the administration’s vision of building a resilient and diversified economy through industrialisation, agricultural development, investment promotion, job creation and support for small and medium-scale enterprises.
The lawmaker also applauded the governor for aligning the ‘MORE Agenda’ with the Sustainable Development Goals, describing the approach as a strategic pathway toward innovation, measurable progress and inclusive prosperity.
She expressed confidence that the summit’s deliberations would produce practical resolutions capable of attracting greater investments, accelerating economic growth, expanding employment opportunities and improving the overall quality of life for residents.

She congratulated Oborevwori on convening the summit and wished delegates, development partners, investors, captains of industry and other participants productive deliberations that would advance Delta’s economic transformation.
