Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has raised the political temperature ahead of the Osun State governorship election, warning that he could seek the intervention of United States President Donald Trump if the August 15 poll is compromised.
The singer made the declaration during a live conversation with comedian Carter Efe, where he stressed that the election must meet the standards of a free, fair and credible democratic contest.
“I will involve Trump if anything goes wrong in the Osun election,” Davido said.
The outspoken musician said he would not stay quiet if he believed the electoral process had been manipulated or if irregularities threatened the integrity of the result.
His remarks have added another layer of public attention to an election already attracting significant interest, particularly because of his close family connection to one of the leading contenders.
