Atiku faults EFCC’s interrogation of Tambuwal

Former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has said that the continued interrogation of former governor of Sokoto State, Senator Aminu Tambuwal, was an effort to weaken the opposition.
Atiku, in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja, alleged that Tambuwal’s interrogation was because he was a member of the opposition coalition.
He claimed that the EFCC invitation of Tambuwal over an alleged misappropriation of N189 billion when he was governor of Sokoto State was an attempt to woo him into the ruling party.
According to him, the EFCC he worked hard to established when he was Vice President of the country has missed its objective.
“That, certainly, is not how to fight the monster of corruption. Indeed, such tendencies provide the stimulant for corruption to thrive.
“The genuine fight against corruption is a matter that required the total support of all Nigerians, the objectification of it as a political agenda should be condemned by all stakeholders,” he said
