Stakeholders praise Tinubu’s administration for progress in economic, social reforms

President Bola Tinubu’s administration has received commendation from stakeholders at a townhall meeting in Asaba for its efforts in social interventions, road infrastructure development, and debt repayment.
The stakeholders, comprising heads of federal government establishments, community and religious leaders, civil society organisations, traders, artisans, youths, farmers, and retirees, praised the administration’s initiatives aimed at improving the lives of Nigerians.
The townhall meeting organised by the Federal Ministry of Information in collaboration with the National Orientation, South South zone, was targeted at  sensitising the people on President Tinubu’s administration  mid-term report on Saturday.
In an address of welcome, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris said the administration of PresidentTinubu had in the past two years disbursed more than N500 million to 1,797 farmers via Livelihood Improvement Family Enterprises Project in Niger Delta (LIFE-ND).
He also said that President Tinubu’s administration had created opportunities for more than 300, 000 beneficiaries through its students’ loans scheme.
Represented by the Head of Federal Information Centre, Asaba, Mr Felix Ijomah revealed that President Tinubu’s administration had released more than  N250 billion to  states to revamp primary health centres across the country.
He added that the present administration had also embarked on building of 8000 new primary health centres across the 774 local government areas.
Idris highlighted the achievements of the administration to include the establishments of five regional development commissions..
He added that more than 440 mega road projects were being executed by the Tinubu’s administration.
According to him, these ongoing projects include,  the Lagos–Calabar coaster highway which is expected to attract massive tourism and investment opportunities.
In his remarks, the immediate past State Coordinator, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Mr John Onovroke noted that much had been achieved by the present administration in agriculture.
Onovroke urged Nigerians to imbibe the positive attitude of showcasing the gains of the economic reforms of President Tinubu’s administration, rather than dwelling on the temporary challenges occasioned by the economic reforms.
He stressed the need for Nigerians to appreciate  the various agricultural programmes being implemented by the Tinubu’s administration geared towards ensuring food sufficiency.
”For me, one fundamental thing this government has achieved is the successful launching and implementation of a new policy on agriculture which is the National Agricultural Technological and Innovation Policy.
”It’s a  four-year policy that came into effect in 2023”,  Onovroke stated.
Some other heads of federal government establishments in State, took turns to showcase the social interventions and opportunities created in their various ministries by the Tinubu’s administration .
Those who spoke included State Controller, Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Mrs Eucharia Ozulumba, the Deputy Director, National Directorate of Employment, South South Zonal Office, Asaba, Mrs Edith Omoku.
Others were the State Manager, Nigerian Meteorological Agency, Kennedy Onyeonobi and the State Director of NOA, Mrs Tracy Ikolomi who said her agency was saddled with the responsibility of sensitizing Nigerians on the policies and programmes of government.
Ikolomi stated that President Tinubu was working relentlessly to transform the nation’s economy for the good of all Nigerians.
‘ Tinubu’s administration had done a lot for Nigerians. Let’s continue to support his administration, so that more will be done. Let’s keep hope alive, ” she said.
On his part, Chairman on the occasion, Sir Joe Asem , remarked  that the present administration had surprised doubting Thomases with impressive achievements in the last two years, when compared to the previous administrations.
Also a retired Director, Pension Administration, South South Pension Area Office, Asaba, urged Nigerians, especially civil servants not to depend entirely on government for everything but to think of other legitimate ways of improving on their wellbeing.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that highlight of the townhall meeting included interactive session where those in attendance had opportunities to ask questions and seek interventions on issues affecting.
