There is law of karma,Damagum warns PDP members against disloyalty

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ambassador Umar Damagum, has cautioned members of the party, particularly state chairmen against acts of disloyalty, warning that betrayal carries inevitable consequences.

Amb. Damagum issued the warning on Thursday, November 6, during a meeting with the Forum of PDP State Chairmen held in Abuja, amid renewed internal wrangling over the party’s leadership structure.

Addressing the gathering, Damagum urged party officials to remain steadfast and avoid actions that could undermine the unity and integrity of the PDP.

“I want to use this opportunity to call on our colleagues that the devil is using to see wisdom in casting out that devil.

“Treachery, especially against an institution that has made you who you are will not heal, ” he said.

He also warned that betrayal often brings long-term repercussions.

“You may be lucky today, but there is a law of karma. What goes around comes around.

”It is not too late to do justice to this party that has given us all,” he stated.

The PDP chairman emphasised that his approach to leadership was guided by faith, not weakness.

“Sometimes when I resort to God’s ways, people think it is weakness. But we exist because God exists, and He will judge each of us by our actions. A word is enough for the wise,” he added.

Reacting to claims that the PDP has lost relevance in Nigeria’s political space, Damagum dismissed such suggestions as unfounded, insisting that the opposition party remains a central player in the country’s democracy.

“People are saying the PDP is dead. But today, the story everywhere in Nigeria is still about the PDP.

”You don’t talk about something that doesn’t exist,” he said.

He maintained that the party remains resilient and capable of addressing both its internal challenges and the broader national issues confronting the country.

“The PDP is alive, ready, and experienced in navigating challenges within its fold.

”We know how to overcome our internal issues and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s progress,” he said.

The PDP chairman also took a swipe at the Federal Government, warning against what he described as attempts to intimidate opposition figures.

“This country belongs to all of us. We are law-abiding citizens, and we will continue to pursue our political goals within the law.

”No one should feel that power gives them the right to behave recklessly, it is temporary. One day, everyone who acts unjustly will answer for it, ” he said.

At the end of the meeting, the Forum of PDP State Chairmen issued a communiqué pledging their loyalty to the party’s national leadership.

They also reaffirmed their commitment to the upcoming national convention scheduled for November 15, describing it as a crucial step toward consolidating unity and repositioning the party ahead of future elections.
