CAF, Morocco announce free e-visas for fans ahead of AFCON 2025

Football supporters planning to travel to Morocco for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will be able to enter the country without paying visa fees, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on Friday.
In a statement published on its official website, CAF confirmed that the free electronic visa initiative was introduced in partnership with the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the tournament, which runs from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
Under the new arrangement, fans from countries that typically require visas to enter Morocco can apply for the e-visa directly through the YALLA app at no cost.
The platform also hosts the mandatory Fan ID system, which spectators must present to gain access to stadiums and official fan zones.
CAF explained that combining both processes within the app was designed to simplify travel arrangements and reduce entry barriers for visiting supporters.
“The Fan ID application and e-visa request are completed seamlessly within the YALLA app, ensuring a faster, easier, and secure experience for international visitors and local fans alike,” CAF noted.
Applicants are required to download the YALLA mobile app from Google Play or the App Store, or visit the YALLA website, submit their personal details, and—where necessary—complete an e-visa application.
Once approved, they can proceed to purchase match tickets via CAF’s online ticketing platform.
The announcement comes amid surging global interest in Africa’s flagship football tournament.
CAF revealed that 298,000 tickets have already been sold across the first two sales phases. Buyers span 33 African nations and 106 countries worldwide.
The highest demand so far has come from Morocco, France, Belgium and the Netherlands, reflecting the tournament’s international pull.
CAF said the free visa policy and integrated Fan ID system form part of a broader effort to ensure a smooth and secure tournament experience across the nine stadiums in six Moroccan host cities.
“CAF, with support from the LOC, reaffirms its commitment to delivering a world-class spectator experience throughout Africa’s greatest football celebration,” the body stated.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles have been placed in Group C alongside Tunisia, Uganda and Tanzania.
The team will begin their campaign on December 23 with a clash against Tanzania as they seek another strong AFCON run.
The 2025 edition marks Morocco’s long-awaited return as hosts, with expectations high for a record-breaking turnout as fans take advantage of the new travel measures.
