Fubara urges unity, sacrifice at Easter

The Rivers State Government has extended Easter greetings to residents, with Governor Siminalayi Fubara calling on citizens to embrace the values of sacrifice, reconciliation, and unity as Christians mark the celebration.

In a press statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi, to commemorate the season, Fubara encouraged the people of the state to reflect on the significance of Easter by emulating Jesus Christ, whose sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary, he noted, brought forgiveness and reconciliation to humanity.

He described Easter as a sacred period that called for the promotion of peace, love, and unity among all.

Fubara expressed optimism that the season would usher in renewed hope and blessings for both Rivers State and the nation at large, stressing the importance of spiritual reflection during the period.

“As we celebrate Easter, I extend warm wishes to all Christians in Rivers State.

”The resurrection of Jesus Christ symbolises hope, renewal, and triumph over adversity.

”May this season bring peace, joy, and spiritual growth to our lives. May the values of love, compassion, and forgiveness guide us in our journey towards a more united and prosperous Rivers State,” the governor said.

The governor also commended the Christian community for its resilience and steadfastness, acknowledging their contributions to the peace and development of the state.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering good governance and improving the welfare of all residents.

Fubara further urged citizens to sustain their support for his administration and align with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, emphasising that meaningful progress could only be achieved through collective effort and unity of purpose.
