Shakira, Burna Boy unveil World Cup track

Colombian music star Shakira has announced a new collaboration with Nigerian Grammy-winning artiste Burna Boy for the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The singer on Thursday released a teaser video of the track titled “Dai Dai”, giving fans a preview ahead of its official release scheduled for May 14.
The short promotional clip, which was also shared on FIFA World Cup social media platforms, was filmed at the famous Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
In the 67-second video, Shakira is seen performing on the stadium pitch while holding the “Trionda,” the official match ball for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The performance featured dancers dressed in the colours of several national teams, including the United States and Colombia.
The video concluded with the message: “We’re ready!”
Announcing the project on her social media pages, Shakira wrote: “From Maracaná Stadium, here is ‘Dai Dai,’ the FIFA World Cup Official Song 2026. Coming 5/14. We’re ready!”
The collaboration marks another major global appearance for Burna Boy, whose influence in international music continues to grow through high-profile partnerships and performances.
Shakira’s connection with the FIFA World Cup dates back nearly two decades.
The pop icon previously performed during the 2006 and 2014 World Cup finals and gained worldwide acclaim for the 2010 tournament anthem, Waka Waka (This Time for Africa).
The teaser was filmed shortly after Shakira staged a free concert at Rio de Janeiro’s Copacabana Beach, where reports said more than two million fans attended the event.
With anticipation building ahead of the tournament, the upcoming release of “Dai Dai” is already generating excitement among football and music fans worldwide.
