JAMB fixes June 13 for UTME mop-up exam

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board) has scheduled Saturday, June 13, 2026, for the conduct of its mop-up Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for candidates who were unable to sit for the main examination.

The board said the mop-up exercise is meant for candidates who were duly registered and biometrically verified but could not take the examination due to technical challenges and other related issues during the main exercise.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin.

According to the statement, the 2026 UTME was conducted between April 23 and April 29, 2026, but some examination centres experienced technical difficulties that disrupted the process for several candidates.

JAMB also noted that some results were withdrawn due to examination malpractice, while others could not be released because certain candidates failed biometric verification.

“All affected candidates have been duly listed for the mop-up examination,” the board stated.

The agency described the mop-up test as the final stage of the 2026 UTME process, aimed at resolving all outstanding cases involving candidates who were unable to complete the examination despite appearing at their centres.

Candidates affected by the exercise have been directed to begin printing their examination notification slips from Saturday, June 6, 2026.

“Affected candidates are hereby urged to print their Examination Notification Slips, familiarise themselves with their examination centres, and make all necessary arrangements ahead of the examination date, as there will be no further opportunity for any candidate to sit the 2026 UTME after this mop-up exercise,” the statement warned.

The board also disclosed that over two million candidates participated in the 2026 UTME conducted nationwide.

Following the examination, JAMB has released results, maintained the minimum admission cut-off marks at 150 for universities and 100 for polytechnics, and opened its portal for candidates seeking changes of institution or course.
