Fubara greets Muslims on Eid-el-Kabir

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful in Rivers State and across the country as they celebrate Eid al-Adha, also known as Eid-el-Kabir.
In a statement issued by by Onwuka Nzeshi, Governor Fubara described the festival as a sacred season that calls for deep reflection on the values of sacrifice, compassion, generosity, and unity among Nigerians, irrespective of religious affiliation.
The governor commended the Muslim community for its contributions to the peace, economic development, and social harmony of Rivers State, noting that their role in promoting stability and coexistence remains highly valued by the government and people of the state.
According to him, Eid-el-Kabir should serve as a moment for both Muslims and non-Muslims to renew their commitment to peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and collective progress in society.
Fubara emphasised the need for Nigerians to see religious and cultural diversity as a source of strength rather than division, urging citizens to continue fostering harmony and understanding across different faiths and communities.
“As you gather with family, friends, and neighbours to share meals and offer prayers, I urge you to extend hands of kindness to the less privileged in our midst,” the governor stated.
He further encouraged residents to embrace the spirit of sacrifice and love that defines the festival by showing compassion to the needy, forgiving one another, and strengthening bonds of unity within their communities.
The governor also offered prayers for peace, good health, and abundant blessings for Muslim families celebrating the festival, while expressing hope that the lessons of Eid-el-Kabir would inspire citizens to work together toward building a more just, prosperous, and united Nigeria.
