ALGON lauds Okauru’s achievements as he retires NGF D-G
Mr Itiako Ikpokpo, the Director-General, Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), has commended the achievements of Mr Asishana Okauru as he retired as Director-General of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF)
Ikpokpo gave the commendation in a statement in Abuja on Monday.
The director-general, who said Okauru would be missed so much, thanked God for his remarkable achievements in the Forum and the laudable transformation he had brought to bear on all impactful assignments.
“I vividly recall his numerous capacity in the past 15 years in office as the NGF Director-General having served several past Governors.
“I can strongly attest that he has rare attributes and uncommon ingenuity that has equipped him to excel many regimes with brilliant innovations, uniting and managing the Forum to a lofty height.
“It is my hope that such attributes will be sustained now that ALGON is exploring more ways to strengthen the relationship with the NGF for a more mutually beneficial partnership.”
Ikpokpo thanked the Forum’s Chairman, Gov. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara and wished the new Director-General, Mr Lateef Shittu, who was the former Forum’s Executive Director in charge of Strategy and Research.
He said that both NGF and ALGON are presently under a new leadership, adding that as ALGON’s D-G, he would continue to seek policy support, build synergy and closer collaboration on issues of rural governance and how ALGON can closely benefit from such partnership for progress.
