Tinubu to commission projects in Ogun visit

President Bola Tinubu is expected in Ogun State today for a one-day working visit focused on commissioning and inspecting key infrastructure projects.

The visit would highlight several initiatives undertaken by the state government aimed at driving infrastructural transformation, boosting economic growth, and improving service delivery through strategic investments.

Top on the agenda is the commissioning of the Gateway International Airport located in Iperu, a major project designed to position Ogun as a key aviation and logistics hub in Nigeria.

Within the same complex, the President is also expected to unveil two newly acquired aircraft under Gateway Air, marking the formal launch of the state’s airline initiative.

As part of efforts to enhance connectivity, Tinubu would commission the Ilishan–Iperu Airport Road, a critical route linking the airport to surrounding communities.

The President’s itinerary also includes the inspection of the Nigeria Customs Service Village, alongside the commissioning of a Forward Operating Base (FOB) facility aimed at strengthening border security and facilitating trade operations.

In addition, he would inspect and commission the Gateway Aviation Village, a supporting development expected to complement the growing aviation ecosystem within the state.

Another major highlight of the visit is the commissioning of the reconstructed Old Ibadan Road, also known as the Sapade–Ilishan Road.

The road would be officially renamed the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Expressway and is expected to significantly improve transportation and commercial activities in the area.

The projects form part of broader efforts by the Ogun State Government to expand infrastructure, attract investment, and position the state as a competitive economic hub.
